On the news it looks like most of the country is frozen right now. Luckily for us that is not the case. A very wet cold front is right on top of us right now but it won’t affect the temperatures too much. The high today is only 60, but by Saturday it will be back to the low 80’s. Traditionally January and February are the toughest months for the fishing here. The water is as cold as it gets. This does slow down the snook fishing, but redfish and trout are not affected as much by the cold. Patience will be rewarded. The colder the water is the slower you need to fish. The warm up later this week should get all of the species moving around a bit more.
Spring is right around the corner! I am looking forward to it!
Till then, Keep the line tight and bow when they jump!!!
