Fishing Report January 29th, 2016
December, January and early February is my off season. The plan was to do some fishing, a little hunting and a lot of sanding, grinding and fixing on my big boat. Since Christmas we have had a rainy front come through every couple days. It has hindered all of my goals for this off season. Well not all of my goals. Just the sanding, grinding and fixing part. Hopefully with the dry warmer weather coming in the boat will be done Sunday.
In just a couple weeks the tarpon will start their migration. I can not wait.
Well this past fall I had a chance to really put the new motor on my skiff to the test. The 90hp Evinrude E-tec has exceeded my expectations. 137 hrs, 2,177.59 miles and 334.38 gallons over two months. That is around 6.5 miles to the gallon. Running it hard everyday. Zero issues. It starts instantly, runs quiet and the hole shot is crazy good. I couldn’t be happier with it.
