It is a real exciting time of year. Spring is finally here. In a couple days, March 1st, I make my biannual migration south to Chokoloskee and the 10,000 Islands. I look forward every year to chasing tarpon around the vast backcountry of the Everglades.
I will be back home to the Boca Grande/Charlotte Harbor early April just in time for the best snook fishing of the year and the beginning of our tarpon season here.
In the Boca Grande/Charlotte Harbor area with the cooler than normal weather pattern we have this spring I expect the tarpon fishing to get consistent sometime mid-late April. Our peak season runs May-August. If tarpon are what you are after these 4 months are the best time to be here.
