Tarpon Season August 2014
Now we are at the halfway point of the season. There are tarpon spread all over the area right now. There are still plenty of tarpon along the beaches, in the passes, in the back bays and even in the rivers. With the exception of a couple windy days the fishing so far has been great. We have had multiple hookups and releases just about every day. The spawn is over. Right now food is all these fish will have on their mind.
The best tarpon fishing of the season is still to come.
We just did a photo shoot with photographer extraordinaire Sara Forrest for the 2015 St.Croix Rods catalog. Sara even made catching bait look amazing. Not to mention the tarpon I caught. They used a lot of photos Sara shot that day. This one to the right is one of my favorite’s!
As usual I will be fishing 7 days a week. I will update this report as often as I can, but you can get reports more frequently by visiting my Facebook page. I will be posting new photos every week.
October is booked solid already, but I have more openings in Late August-September for Tarpon ONLY!!!
Peak tarpon season I am still open: August 21st, 27th and 28th.
Keep the line tight and bow when they jump!
