We just arrived back home from our spring Everglades/Upper Keys spring tarpon season. It was a blast fishing the vast backcountry of the Everglades. This year we also spent a lot of time fishing the beautiful water of the Upper Keys. I am excited to get back down this fall.
Here at home tarpon season is near. Mid-April thousands of tarpon start pouring into the Boca Grande/Charlotte Harbor area in mid-April. May-August is the peak of the tarpon migration through this area. I still have a few dates open in May and June. We catch some of the largest fish of the season during these months. Last year in July and August the tarpon fishing was as good as we have seen in years. I expect this year will be no different.
