Boca Grande/Charlotte Harbor area

Fishing Report August 29th, 2015

August TarponWell as usual when the fishing is at it’s best I went dark on all fronts. No fishing reports, Facebook or Instagram.  With my calendar full and the whole area to myself it really has been like the old days again.  No sense in spoiling all our fun just to brag.

The weather over the last couple months has been challenging.  Thunderstorms and crazy wind patterns moved the fish around a lot.  It kept us on our toes.  It put us on the beaches one day, in the rivers the next and the bay the next.  Luckily for us persistence really pays.  We had a lot of great days throughout, but the last two weeks the fish rallied before the storms as expected.

Boca Grande TarponThis year, just like last year, we will be chasing the tarpon through the end of November.  Most of our days are booked already.  The fall run the last couple years has been so good I set aside a bunch of days to get in on the action myself.

Jenni’s photography has exceeded all of our expectations this season.  She really has taken her photography to the next level.  During the off season this year expect to see some big changes to my websites.  Mostly a complete overhaul of the photos.  I still have a lot of tarpon to catch before I get to any of that.

If you haven’t seen our Facebook page or our Instagram photos get on there and check out some of Jenni’s latest photos. You do not have to have a Facebook account to view our page.  I will be posting a lot during the next couple months.

Till next time,

Capt. Mark Bennett
